Grandchildren

My youngest grandson is now one year old. This is a picture of him on this birthday, March 27th and the park. I can't believe he is this old already. Walking, getting around, trying to talk. I get to see him tomorrow so I will take lots of pictures.

Grandchildren

This year my granddaughter, Taylor, is 12 and on her first softball team. She is really having a good time. She manages to baffle the other teams pitchers because she is a lefty. So she has a high on base percentage, she gets walked a lot.

Christmas 2008

What a wonderful time we had in Steamboat Springs, Co. Gary and I spent Christmas week there and I never wanted to leave. The food was fabulous! The drinks were delicious! The company was cozy! The snow was scrumptious! What's left to say? On Christmas Eve we found a cute little church on the main highway that offered a Christmas Eve service. The service actually consisted of the pastor in a one man play. He played the man that owned the inn where Christ was born. Very entertaining, and somewhat humorous. Christmas night we went on a "Sleigh Ride". Ok, it was coooold, but it was worth it. Snuggled up tight against each other, and a huge steak dinner with music for dancing waiting for us when we returned, that says it all! One of the best surprises I received while we were there was a box with a painted snowman on it that said "Snowman Kit". Our daughter Debra, sent it to the hotel to arrive before us, it included, a carrot stick (for the nose), a hat, a pipe, and a red kerchief. Knowing that I would never stand in the snow long enough to actually make a real snowman, I donned it myself and took pictures, that look pretty much like the ole man himself, except for the hair, clothing, and nose. Couldn't figure out how to insert that without causing harm!

We didn't neglect the family totally, as we had an open house for everyone here before we left. Invited for chili, cornbread and pies, everyone dropped by as they could, visited, ate, and took home small Christmas keepsakes, then went about their own errands before Christmas arrived.

Debra & andy

This is a picture of daughter Debra and her husband Andy, at the Oyster Festival in Long Island, NY. I have no idea what an Oyster Festival is, but I'm sure it is a lot of fun.
